Safety and Usage Guidelines

Important safety information to ensure proper operation and longevity of your Festive Motion products

Setup & Operation

  • Ensure the skull is centered and in the down position before operating
  • Ensure the skull movement is not obstructed
  • Place equipment on a stable, level surface
  • Maintain minimum clearance of 10.2 cm (4 inches) on all vented sides for proper ventilation
  • Do not stack equipment or place too close together to avoid re-circulated air
  • Never lift your skull by the neck – always use the base

🔌

Electrical Safety

  • Ensure cables are not stepped on or create tripping hazards
  • Connect all cables to correct connectors before applying power
  • Do NOT plug PIR cable into Audio jack
  • Do not plug/disconnect PIR device with power applied
  • Do not use AC powered equipment during electrical storms
  • Periodically touch unpainted metal to dissipate static electricity

🌡️

Environmental Conditions

  • Operating temperature range: 32°F to 100°F
  • Keep away from radiators and heat sources
  • Do not use in wet environments (bathrooms, pools, wet basements)
  • Avoid placing on soft surfaces (beds, sofas, carpets)
  • Store in cool, dry environment

🧹

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Disconnect from electrical outlet before cleaning
  • Clean with soft cloth dampened with water only
  • Do not use liquids or aerosol cleaners
  • Do not spill food or liquids on equipment
  • Do not insert objects into air vents or openings
  • No user serviceable parts inside

📦

Storage Guidelines

  • Store skull on its side to remove neck strain
  • Use bubble-wrap as bedding for side storage
  • If upright storage needed, place 3″ x 5″ cardboard under jaw for support
  • Remove all batteries if storing longer than 6 months
  • Avoid prolonged UV exposure – can make 3D printed parts brittle
  • Store in neutral position to prevent component strain

🎨

Painting & Customization

  • Use flat, non-glossy acrylic paint only
  • Do NOT paint the sensor lens on PIR module
  • Tape over electrical connectors before painting
